FAQ's

The LifeSigns iMS is an all-inclusive patient monitoring solution that integrates wireless biosensor technology with both individual and centralized monitoring interfaces. The Lifesigns biosensor is the core of this system, allowing for automated and continuous physiological assessments; data are transmitted wirelessly to a relay device and ultimately to the cloud, where it may be viewed by a caregiver through centralized monitors or their phone. The adaptability of the system and the simplicity of the wireless platform allow for continuous monitoring in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
The LifeSigns Biosensor is a disposable patient monitor worn discretely on the patient’s chest. It continually measures six physiological parameters in real-time.
The LifeSigns biosensor is a battery-powered patch with integrated sensors and a wireless transceiver that is worn on the torso to record 2 Channel electrocardiography (ECG), heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, body temperature, posture (body position relative to gravity), and fall detection. The Companion Biosensor is a rechargeable device that can measure blood pressure and SpO2 in a time frame set by the doctor.

Skin Preparation:

  1. Shaving is necessary for males in order to improve biosensor adhesion, increase signal quality, and minimize pain during removal of chest hair
  2. To enhance adherence, the skin should be cleansed of lotions and oils. Use an alcohol swab to clean the application area, then allow it to dry before applying the biosensor. Do not exercise or shower for 30 minutes following the initial application of the biosensor.
  3. Handling: Take care not to contact the adhesive or hydrogel when applying the biosensor; hold the biosensor’s adhesive-free upper half while removing the biosensor’s liners and setting it for application.
No. Once the biosensor has been enabled, it cannot be turned off
After 144 hours (6 days), it will cease to work. Any data saved on the biosensor must be sent prior to its deactivation.
Yes. The biosensor is showerproof and suitable for regular use. It is not suitable for use in a bath or sauna. Minimize exposure immediately beneath the shower head and avoid excessive soap or scrubbing when showering.
Patients may suffer some pain and/or itching when wearing hydrocolloid adhesives of medical grade. If a patient experiences discomfort or irritation that exceeds tolerable levels, the biosensor should be removed immediately. Immediately cease usage if the patient suffers an adverse response, and seek medical assistance if the situation does not improve within several days.
When you are unplugged from the relay device, the biosensor will gather data for about 48 hours. If the biosensor’s internal storage capacity is exhausted without connecting to the relay device, the oldest data will be replaced with freshly collected data. In this case, the oldest data cannot be recovered.
